Lift Express

Lift Express is an ideal alternative for people who want to avoid the artificial look that conventional facelifts sometimes produce. This is due to the tension on the skin that causes over-correction of the facial expression. The Lift Express technique offers unquestionable advantages:

• The tension is not exerted on the skin, but on the SMAS (Superficial Muscular Aponeurotic System), the tissue located just under the skin, which covers and joins the facial muscular structure. When the SMAS yields as years go by the force of gravity, the facial muscles loosen, stretching the skin and producing flabbiness.
• The procedure is performed with local anaesthetic and no sedation. Outpatient procedure
• The scar is invisible and is performed around the ear lobe.
• The skin detachment is of only two or three centimetres, where the facial nerve is protected. The risks involved in a conventional facelift, where the detachment is carried out on up to half the face, are therefore minimised.

The procedure consists of making a one-centimetre incision around the lobe, bordering the soft region of the ear, which then continues behind the ear, very close to the auricular concha. Through this procedure, 2 to 3 centimetres of skin is detached and isolated from the SMAS, which is then anchored in a new, very resistant position behind the lobe. The tension applied is gentle, given that the SMAS pulls the entire facial and neck muscles.

The skin is repositioned and the excess is removed. No tension is applied and this guarantees the invisibility of the scars. Finally, the front of the lobe is closed with an invisible monocryl intradermic suture and the back with very fine ethilon threads, which are removed six days later. The whole procedure lasts less than an hour.

IML has incorporated its experience in the use of CO2 Active FX laser to perform the incisions. This laser coagulates as it cuts, so there is no bleeding, bruising is avoided and the subsequent swelling is reduced.
