IML, speaker at the SECPRE 2013 Congress

Dr. Ignacio Sanz, Head of the Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery Unit at IML, participated in the 48th Congress of the Spanish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (SECPRE), held in Arona (Tenerife) on 5-7 June 2013, with a paper entitled "The current role of fat grafting in breast surgery".

Lipotransfer with autologous fat is being used more and more in breast surgery, both cosmetic and reconstructive. 

The intermammary cleft in very thin patients and implant folds can be corrected using autologous fat lipografts. Correction of lost volume following excision of a tumour or complete removal of the mammary gland is possible with the use of autologous fat filling, which achieves improved breast volume and shape as well as significant enhancement of skin quality.
