IML director, speaker at the 22nd SELMQ Congress

Dr Javier Moreno Moraga, IML medical director, spoke at the 22nd Spanish Society of Medical-Surgical Laser (SELMQ) Congress, held in Madrid on 29-31st May 2014.

Dr Moreno's paper, Combined sclerosis-laser approach to venous insufficiency in lower limbs, described his accumulated clinical experience over the past ten years with the Photodynamic Therapy for Varicose Veins technique, an Instituto Medico Laser patent, obtained with 50% collaboration with the Department of Molecular Beams and Lasers at the Multidisciplinary Institute, Complutense University of Madrid.

Dr Moreno's presentation included a part of the laboratory research conducted over the past years that explain the high level of efficacy of reticular varicose vein treatment and telangiectasia in the legs.

The IML varicose vein treatment technique has been applied since 2004 with a high rate of success. Photodynamic Therapy for Varicose Veins allows for removal of fine and medium calibre varicose veins on the legs in one main session and two complementary overhaul sessions.
