Dr. Sanz, lecturer at the Quiron workshop
Dr. Ignacio Sanz lectured in the Course " Neoadjuvant treatment in breast cancer: Current strategies and new challenges", organised by the Quirón Clinic on 9 and 10 May 2013.
Dr. Sanz, head of the Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Unit at IML, presented his paper "Reconstructive options after neoadjuvant treatment and radical surgery", which broke down the various reconstructive options available in breast reconstruction following neoadjuvant chemotherapy.
Neoadjuvant therapy, among other advantages, increases the options of conservative surgery in breast cancer. This allows a new type of patient with partial breast defects to benefit from partial breast reconstruction with autologous fat, known as breast lipostructure.
