Hair removal in areas where hair grows during puberty follows the same rhythm and obtains the same results as female body hair removal. However, epilation on the back and thorax presents differs.
Men start growing back hair at 20 years of age and growth continues until they are 45-50. Treatment will eliminate hair present at the time of the session but the patient must know that he will keep growing new hair for years, thus requiring touch-up sessions. The same applies to ear or nose hair.
The lasers that best adapt to males are Diode Light Sheer, Nd-Yag (Lyra Xp) or Vasculight.
After the first session the patient is hair-free for over two months and must return every four months. There is usually a session before summertime so the patient can enjoy the laser’s prolonged effect.
