IML welcomes Dr. Mihail Lucian Pascu

Dr. Mihail Lucian Pascu, director of the National Institute for Laser, Plasma and Radiation Physics in Bucharest, visited Instituto Médico Láser.

The aim of Dr. Pascu's visit was to work with Dr. Moreno Moraga, IML Director, observing the immediate response to reticular varicose vein and spider vein treatment known as Photodynamic Therapy for Varicose Veins from a clinical viewpoint. This treatment is an IML and Department of Molecular Beams and Lasers at the Multidisciplinary Institute, Complutense University of Madrid international patent.

D. Pascu and the scientific institution he directs, as well as IML and other European medical centres have conducted joint studies to determine the optical behaviour of the physical-chemical mechanism of substances that enhance the effect of laser delivery on varicose vein treatment. Photodynamic Therapy for Varicose Veins results show that it is 16 times more effective than conventional sclerosis and isolated laser treatment. In addition, it removes reticular varicose veins and telangiectasia in one complete session and two or three follow-up sessions.
