Tranexamic acid is a hydrophilic and synthetic substance that acts by blocking the formation of melanin, a brown pigment that gives colour to the skin, hair and blemishes, such as melasma.

Instituto Medico Laser has initiated a study on the effectiveness of this active principle in the treatment of cutaneous hyperpigmentation. Tranexamic acid is applied using the technique of Mesotherapy. The Protocol can be complemented with other treatments, such as picosecond laser.

Treatment with tranexamic acid is available at IML from the month of May 2018.
